Sept. 28, 2015: SpiderMable rescue of Oilers captain grips Edmonton
Spider-Mable came to the rescue Monday when she found Edmonton Oilers captain Andrew Ference safe and sound after an apparent kidnapping by the villain Mysterio.
The caper, played out at the West Edmonton Mall and Edmonton Valley Zoo, was organized to grant the wish of 6-year-old Mable Tooke, who has leukemia, to fight crime like Spider-Man.
It started when the fictitious Action 7 News, created by the Children's Wish Foundation and Edmonton Police Service, released a 7 a.m. news bulletin about Ference's kidnapping with pleas for Spider-Mable to help.
With the help of Spider-Man, Spider-Mable found Ference tied up in a rope at the zoo, then shot Mysterio with silly string to free the Oilers captain.

Tooke has battled acute lymphoblastic leukemia for the past two years but is nearing the end of her treatment with a good prognosis, according to the Edmonton Journal. She passes time during her treatments by reading comic books, with Spider-Man stories from the 1960s her favorites.
There were more than 27,000 tweets with the hashtag "#SpiderMable" on Twitter as of 6 p.m.
